Diversity Gateway

Welcome to the Diversity Gateway. Good policy discussion and choices need good research. The Diversity Gateway is a quick route to CPRN's policy-relevant research and learning on diversity issues.

The diversity of Canadians is a product of policy as well as history. Governments have worked to fashion Canada - in law and in practice - as a pluralist democracy that respects diversity, values linguistic duality, and recognizes the culture and rights of Aboriginal people.

Challenges remain, including racism, discrimination and other barriers that block the full inclusion of immigrants, visible minorities and Aboriginal people. Yet there is also reason to be optimistic.

So step through the Diversity Gateway. It's a place for thinking about the kind of country we are now, and the kind of country we want to be.
